Ivy Queen 2008 GLAAD Honoree | 'Queen' Of Gay Pride

Ivy Queen will receive a special award of recognition
at this year's
19th Annual GLAAD Awards

She will be honored for her outspoken support and exemplarily representation throughout her career in relation to the GLBT Latino community.

Other honorees this year include Janet Jackson to be awarded at the Los Angeles ceremony, Sharon Stone to be awarded in San Francisco, and Wilson Cruz
also to be awarded in Miami.

The evening will include a live concert performance by Deborah Cox
as well as DJ Abel spinning at the official after-party.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

  In keeping with her support for the GLBT community, Ivy Queen will also be honored as the Latino Queen of Both Long Beach Pride (May 17-18) as well as San Francisco Pride (June 29). The events will kick off with a parade in the morning and an afternoon/evening performance at the Latino Stage of the Festivities.
